Outcomes of International Economic Forum "Sughd–2018" "10 years of sustainable development"

 

11 October 2018 in the Sughd region in Khujand city was held the international Economic Forum "Sughd–2018" on the theme "10 years of sustainable development".

          The purpose of such forums is to create favorable conditions for dialogue and familiarization, expanding cooperation and establishing relations between government representatives, the private sector in the regions and foreign investors, as well as developing proposals for improving the regulatory framework of the regions to eliminate existing shortcomings.

In this forum was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of ministries and departments, executive agency of state authority of Sughd region, international organizations, the diplomatic sector, representatives of the free economic zones of the countries of Central Asia as well as over 200  foreign and domestic investors.

         In the forum was presented the special economic zone "Alabuga" (Russia), free economic zone "Ontustik" (Kazakhstan), "Urgut" (Uzbekistan), "Naryn" and "Leylek" (Kyrgyzstan). In addition to the FEZ "Sughd", Tajikistan, the forum was attended by experts of the three countries of FEZ "Dangara", "Panj", "Ishkashim".

         Representatives of the domestic free economic zones, Russia and the republics of Central Asia who participated in the Forum declared their readiness to implement joint projects using the tax benefits and preferences provided by the governments of their countries.

The forum participants during the discussions exchanged views on the definition of the format of cooperation. The parties also made a number of proposals aimed at assisting the implementation of national programs and the development of cooperation between Russia and the countries of Central Asia.

 During the discussions, representatives of the FEZ talked about the ways and format of possible cooperation between entities operating on their territory and the need for coordination between the administrations of free economic zones. The forum participants had the opportunity to learn about the activities of several enterprises – subjects of FEZ "Sughd". It was decided to transfer for consideration of the management of FEZ subjects made suggestions and recommendations on the possibility of establishing bilateral cooperation. Between FEZ Sughd (Tajikistan) and "Ontustik" (Kazakhstan) signed a Protocol of intent on cooperation, which was the first official document signed between the free economic zones of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
